The Prophet, peace be upon him, said:
“Whoever builds a Masjid for the sake of Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise” (Hadith Al Bukhari)
As we know, the mosque serves as a place where Muslims can come together for prayers and a place for information, education, and meetings.
Currently, there are no mosques or schools around for miles, so people cannot pray their daily salah in the house of Allah and are losing the rewards that are easy to gain. Some older men travel long distances to other villages for the Jumu’ah prayers on Fridays and willingly struggle to earn these rewards.
Having faced many challenges, especially during the rainy season, many Muslims miss their prayer, as they could not fit in the small masjid available.
The Mosque Project aims to assist local communities in Africa with mosque development within a Muslim society. Mosques play an essential role in building community spirit. They can bring communities together, support health and wellbeing, and empower individuals to make a positive change in their lives.
Islamic history shows that the mosque has long been considered the community’s heart. Upon notifying the need to have a big masjid, the Muslim brothers and sisters approached and requested to complete the masjid for them.
